Police have released a statement following the multi-vehicle crash this morning:
'Crews from Douglas were dispatched this morning by the Emergency Services Joint Control Room to reports of a multi-vehicle RTC near to Kate's Cottage. Upon arrival crews identified that there was a single casualty trapped in a vehicle due to their injuries.
Crews worked with paramedics to stabilise the individual before removing the doors and roof of the vehicle in readiness for transfer to the awaiting ambulance.'
Police are urging people to take extra care on the roads, especially when driving in foggy and wet conditions.
Ongoing investigations into the cause of the incident are being conducted by our colleagues in the Police.
Road now reopened.
