More than 120 tonnes landed since season started in August
More than 120 tonnes of herring have been landed on Island since the start of the 2024 herring fishing season.
It's the second year since the historic return of the herring fishery with the total allowable catch increased to 200 tonnes.
Although still small scale two new export markets for the fish have been opened to Wales and Northern Ireland.
A further spin off for the Island has been the long-awaited opportunity for local people to obtain 'real' Manx herring after a small proportion of the catch was secured by local retailers.
