
Car tax on the Island is to go up by 10 per cent.
Tynwald approved the move by the Department of Infrastructure this afternoon (Tues)
Minister Phil Gawne said he understood the rise was large, but said petrol prices were no falling.
There was some heated debate on the issue and some members were strongly opposed to the move.
Malew and Santon MHK Graham Cregeen said the rise was another example of the "squeezed middle" .
