Court rejects need for autism champion
An independent autism champion will not be appointed for vulnerable young people on the Island.
It was the only one of 21 recommendations not approved in Tynwald from a report into the treatment of youngsters struggling with homelessness.
The age young people leave care will rise from 18 to 21 and housing provisions will be more open.
Amendments put forward by Douglas East MHK Claire Barber were welcomed by committee chair and 'children's champion' Tim Baker.
Mr Baker says we need to treat these people as if they are your own:-
