
The Isle of Man has a more direct and vibrant democracy than the United Kingdom - and Tynwald is a more effective parliament than the House of Commons.
That glowing tribute from the Clerk of Tynwald Malachy Cornwall-Kelly, who's retiring from the post in the autumn after seven years.
Mr Cornwall-Kelly says the role - overseeing the Island's ancient parliament - has been the most varied and worthwhile he's ever had.
