'I believe them all', says Cretney
The chairman of a committee investigation into abuse at the former Knottfield Children's Home has praised the bravery of victims who gave evidence last week.
David Cretney MLC is glad that open discussion is now taking place, albeit retrospectively, about the issue.
Christine Urquhart and John Guest , two former residents of the Douglas care home, detailed to the committee the systematic abuse which occurred during their childhoods spent at the facility.
Mr Cretney says he was deeply moved by their courage, coming forward to present their "harrowing" stories in public:
