Lisvane proposals to be re-visited
Manx parliamentary reform is to be further explored – but it could take some time.
That’s after Tynwald voted to refer a series of proposals to a five member committee.
Based on recommendations by Lord Lisvane in his far-reaching review into the workings of the Island's parliament, a committee has been formed to re-examine some of his suggestions, as well as amendments by Speaker of the House of Keys, Juan Watterson.
He will chair the committee which will comprise MHKs Geoffrey Boot, Alex Allinson, Tim Baker and MLC David Cretney.
They have been asked to report back on reform of the Legislative Council by October and the rest of the recommendations by December.
