Gambia trip funded by UK group
A Tynwald official says the Island is setting an example for other parliaments around the world.
Delegates from the Isle of Man and Westminster recently traveled to The Gambia in west Africa, where they provided equipment and training for the use of Hansard transcription technology.
The trip was funded entirely by UK group the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.
It follows similar outreach and education programmes with Sierra Leone, Kenya and a regional assembly from Pakistan earlier this year.
Tynwald's Head of Hansard Ellen Callister, who led the trip, says it's a 'great advertisment' for our institutions:
Health minister to give statement on Hospice funding
Majority of people on IOM not satisfied with travel options
Gandeys Circus cancels Sunday shows due to high winds
Final round of bus strike action gets underway
Hospice redundancies decision "tough to make but the right thing to do", says CEO
