MLC dismisses reform of unelected officials
An MLC has dismissed the notion that unelected officials should distance themselves from government.
This week the House of Keys approved changes to the way chief ministers are elected, which could see the Legislative Council excluded from future votes.
All but four members, including the Chief Minister himself, supported the proposals.
Policy and Reform Minister Chris Thomas said the chamber had 'respected the will of the public'.
But former MHK Bill Henderson, who was elected to the upper chamber in 2015, says there are more important issues:
