Possible trial of e-cigs doesn't indicate failure of smoking ban
It's been revealed some prisoners have been using substances such as tea bags and hair in hand-made cigarettes at Jurby - posing serious health risks.
Tynwald is now being asked to back changes to the Island's custody laws in a bid to address the issue.
If approved, it'll pave the way for a six-month trial of e-cigarettes at the Isle of Man Prison.
Tobacco Lead Anita Imberger says the move shouldn't be interpreted as a failure of the prison smoking ban:

Overnight sailings cancelled due to adverse weather
Rapist who 'terrorised' his victim told his sentence was 'entirely justified'
Complaints process for health system changed
Discovery of oiled birds 'makes a mockery of our biosphere status'
Charges now in place for those sending parcels to the EU
