Motion fails in court
A bid to instigate a full review of government employment costs failed in Tynwald yesterday.
The motion was brought forward by Onchan MHK Julie Edge, who highlighted what she said were 'large inequalities' between certain public and civil service jobs in the Isle of Man and their UK equivalents, or between Manx government departments.
She told the court it was something which needed to be looked at urgently, as it was 'frustrating' for workers.
The motion failed, receiving 10 votes for and 14 against in the House of Keys, three votes for and four against in the Legislative Council.
