Treasury Minister says he'll look at new UK proposals to tackle money laundering
Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says he’ll be looking at new proposals from the UK to tackle criminals laundering their money by buying property.
Today (Tuesday), David Cameron unveiled plans to publish the details of foreign companies who own buildings and land.
Mr Teare says the moves have been a long time coming after concerns were raised earlier this year – and adds the Island has nothing to fear because of its stance on money laundering.
He says he sympathises with Mr Cameron:

Overnight sailings cancelled due to adverse weather
Rapist who 'terrorised' his victim told his sentence was 'entirely justified'
Complaints process for health system changed
Discovery of oiled birds 'makes a mockery of our biosphere status'
Charges now in place for those sending parcels to the EU
