Campaign predicts UK couples interest
Laws allowing civil partnerships for opposite sex couples in the Isle of Man could prove a big draw for those unable to form such unions in the UK.
That view from Matt Hawkins of the Equal Civil Partnerships UK campaign, who says the Manx civil registry has recieved a number of inquiries in the unique option.
Last week Island residents Adeline Cusson and Keiran Hodgson became the first heterosexual couple in the British Isles to enter into a civil partnership.
A law allowing gay marriage in the Isle of Man was extended to include that option, from July this year.
The UK government currently only permits partnerships for same sex couples and Mr Hawkins says the Island's position could have advantages:
