Island's farming community encouraged to get involved

Farmers on the Isle of Man are being invited to attend a ‘soil safari’ tonight (16 June).

Tom Fairfax, a mixed beef, sheep and arable farmer from Northumberland, is visiting today.

He’s been meeting with representatives from the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture during his time on the Island.

And tonight Tom and the Chief Executive of the Isle of Man Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group Paul Fletcher are encouraging the farming community - and anyone who enjoys gardening or growing their own vegetables - to join in:

The event will take place at 7pm at the Creg Ny Baa.
