Friends of Joanna Simpson say the initial scheme would have put people at risk
Friends of Joanna Simpson, who grew up on the Isle of Man and was killed by her ex-husband, say the UK government's original plans to ease prison overcrowding went against its priority to keep people safe.
Robert Brown killed Joanna with a claw hammer in 2010.
Initial plans unveiled by the British government would have included reducing some manslaughter sentences, but anyone jailed for unlawful killing will now not be included in the scheme.
Hetti Barkworth-Nanton was a friend of Joanna's, and helped start a charity in her name, which supports children who are affected by domestic homicide and abuse.
