Ban part of ambition to make England 'smoke free'
A UK ban on menthol tobacco, which comes into force today (20 May), will have a direct impact on supply of the product on the Isle of Man.
The sale of menthols will be prohibited as part of the British government's strategy to stop young people smoking.
These products are thought to encourage new smokers, with a cooler, sweeter taste, along with the perception they're less harmful.
The ban forms part of a greater ambition to make England 'smoke free' by 2030.
Tobacco products sold on Island are directly linked to UK supply, so the ban will affect the availability of menthols in Manx shops.
