Cannan says there is a need for a 'close working relationship' with UK
The chief minister has written a letter to Liz Truss to congratulate her on her appointment as the new prime minister of the United Kingdom.
Speaking to Manx Radio Alfred Cannan said he valued the close working relationship that the Manx government has with Westminster.
Potential changes to taxation and VAT were highlighted as areas that could impact the Island as the UK tackles surging costs.
However he insisted it was important for the Isle of Man to continue on its proposed path with regard to cost-of-living support and following the Island Plan:
