Expert's verdict on tourism master plan
A UK travel writer says the Island's new tourism strategy is honest about the challenges - and practical about the solutions.
Freelance journalist Helen Pickles is regularly published in UK broadsheet newspapers, and wrote a feature article about the Isle of Man for the Daily Telegraph last year.
Manx Radio asked her to review the new Destination Management Plan, which says visitor numbers could stagnate by 2020 unless action's taken to promote the Island to new markets.
The report suggests short breaks, holidays for young families and cruise-goers could all be targeted.
