Prayers to be held six months after war started
Ukraine’s Independence Day will be marked on the Isle of Man today (24 August).
A special prayer will be held for Ukrainians this evening at 7.30pm at the Promenade Methodist Church Hall in Douglas.
Today marks six months since Russia invaded Ukraine causing millions of people to become displaced.
Organiser Yuliya Sasina says it’s a way to make Ukrainians who live here, or who have sought refuge here, feel supported.
She told Manx Radio people must not forget what the war is doing to people in her country:
