Unemployment in the Isle of Man rose by 15 per cent and topped 1000 last month, a 13-year high.
At the end of January it stood at 1029 - 2.4 per cent of the economically active population.
Of the total unemployed, around three-quarters are male.
Treasury Minister Allan Bell says the increase is no great surprise, there usually is one in January, but it's still unwelcome.
