
There's no need to worry about increasing unemployment in the Isle of Man.
That assurance comes from Treasury Minister Allan Bell after the figures for last month showed a 0.2 per cent rise.
Mr Bell says a figure of 1.4 per cent is still a good deal better than in many other areas and adds there's always more unemployment in July because students are returning home for the summer holidays.
He says despite the increase, it's still the lowest July rate for the past two years and he's confident it doesn't indicate bad things to come (audio file attached):
