The UK leader of Prospect is in the Island today (2 April) to open the union's new office in Douglas.
General Secretary Mike Clancy will officially open Prospect's Isle of Man headquarters, in Chesterfield House, Victoria Street this lunchtime.
The union says larger premises are needed as membership in the Island has almost doubled in the past seven years - and their new base offers much better facilities
There are currently 2000 Prospect members in the Island, from the public and private sectors.
Mr Clancy is a regular visitor, supporting local campaigns over job security, pay and pensions issues.
Isle of Man Negotiations Officer Angela Moffatt described him as 'instrumental' in making the union grow here.
All are welcome to attend the opening, between 12 and 2pm today.
