Tribunal rules on unfair dismissal
An airport worker dismissed from his job at Isle of Man Airport has been vindicated by an employment tribunal - two years after his death.
Shaun McGee lost his job as an apron hand at Ronaldsway in 2013, after a court fined him for criminal damage in a neighbour dispute.
He'd worked at the airport for seven years, and was issued a 'Certificate of Disregard' by the infrastructure department.
That meant the conviction need not prevent him having a security pass - but Mr McGee was not reinstated, and died in 2014.
Two years on, an employment tribunal has concluded unanimously he was unfairly dismissed.
The case was pursued by Unite, whose regional officer Eric Holmes has welcomed the outcome:
