Prospect hopes to resume talks later this week
A trade union says its members have rejected the latest pay offer from the Public Services Commission.
Prospect has confirmed its members have voted against accepting a two-year deal for a 4 percent pay increase this year, followed by 2.5 percent next year.
Negotiations Officer Mick Hewer says he's not surprised at the result and believes there are many factors that may have influenced the vote.
The union has reached out again to the commission to seek a revised offer, and hopes to meet with the PSC again later this week or early next week.
Prospect is calling for the PSC to match a previous offer of 4 percent for the current financial year, 3 percent for next year and the harmonisation of annual leave.
The PSC has confirmed it will be meeting today to discuss the outcome of the ballot by Prospect and Unite.
