Special show within the Tynwald chamber
History, culture, politics and a good dose of fun are in store at a unique concert being staged in the Tynwald chamber this lunchtime.
A specially-staged show will celebrate 150 years of Manx democracy, with a potted history of the 'wedding cake' building, re-enactments from key debates and speeches, along with anecdotes, music and song.
The event is part of the 2017 Isle of Architecture project, paying tribute to the buildings and structures around us.
Today's concert will focus on the maiden speech of the first female MHK, some notorious political clashes and some of the more quirky antics of representatives from days gone by.
Organiser Charles Guard says the venue is the key aspect of the day.
