Unmarked cars deployed

An intensive two-month police operation to crack down on bad driving in the Island gets underway this week.

'Operation Brownstone' marks the delivery of the force's new covert enforcement fleet.

The unmarked high-performance cars have state-of-the-art digital video recording systems.

Police officers will be on the look-out for those who flout the law - using mobile phones or failing to wear seatbelts - and those guilty of plain bad driving!

Inspector Derek Flint (pictured) from the Roads Policing Unit says it can be a short, sharp shock for drivers when they realise they've been watched:
