Delays of up to 48 hours in reporting new cases
Unverified positive cases of Covid-19 will now be included as part of government’s daily statistics.
Data will come directly from the pathology lab – with a caveat that it won't have been fully analysed or processed.
Government told Manx Radio it will give the public 'a good indication of daily positives'.
It comes after days of confusion over the number of new cases due to the 111 team dealing with a backlog of results.
The service has been under pressure coordinating the booking of tests, informing of results and reporting the figures.
It's meant there's been a delay of up to 48 hours in the reporting of new cases.
This has been attributed to the manual analysis and processing required to accurately report number of active cases, recoveries and source of transmission fields currently included on the public dashboard.
