Businessman steps in to help
A local tradesman came to the rescue earlier, after an urgent call was issued to help a bird stuck in a tree in Santon.
Manx Wild Bird Aid took to social media asking if anyone could provide a cherry picker or similar equipment to rescue the animal near the Mount Murray.
Painter and decorator Jonathan King responded, and helped free the distressed animal with his van.
Unfortunately, the outlook is not good - the charity says getting stuck has 'wrecked' the bird's leg.
Although it offered to front the cost of equipment hire, Mr King refused.
