Urgent Covid-19 question in House of Keys

Members also to discuss gas extraction and business winter support

There has been a late addition to the subjects up for discussion in the House of Keys this morning.

It comes after the Omicron variant of Covid-19 was detected in the UK.
 
Members are expected to start with an urgent question from Jason Moorhouse on those recent developments relating to Coronavirus. 

After that, the first scheduled question is from Rushen member Michelle Heywood, on Tynwald members standards of conduct.

It comes off the back of recent UK debates on that subject.

Other questions cover Manx Utility loans, government policy on natural gas extraction, business winter support packages and the cost of defence in the last 3 years by the UK.

Boosting voting registration on the online portal is also in the schedule as well as what contact the Department for Enterprise has had with customer facing businesses during covid.

Elsewhere, what is being done to prevent isolation and loneliness in the south will also be a matter on the agenda.

The two newly-elected members of the Legislative Council - Paul Craine and Diane Kelsey - will also be sworn in during the session.
