This week marks Road Safety Week
Motorists caught using their phones while driving can face a fine up to £2,500.
It's Road Safety Week and the constabulary is highlighting the 'fatal five' causes of serious or fatal collisions on the Island's roads.
Police says the use of mobile phones while driving is illegal and results in four penalty points on a licence, adding no notification or call is worth the risk of getting caught, or worse, causing a collision.
Pedestrians are also reminded to put phones away while crossing roads.
Other causes of collisions include careless driving, speeding, not wearing a seatbelt and drink or drug driving.
