Stairwell access remains available to all levels of the park
Lifts at Shaw's Brow car park in Douglas have been taken out of service during evenings and weekends after sustained period of vandalism.
Douglas Borough Council says the temporary closure is for the safety of car park users and to allow time for repairs to be carried out.
The suspension of the lifts follows the recent closure during evenings and Sundays of toilets within the Shaw's Brow facility.
The Council says it's working closely with Police to identify those responsible for the ongoing and unacceptable acts of vandalism and wanton damage.
Chairman of the Council's Environmental Services Committee, Councillor Falk Horning, says it's thought the same group of youths is responsible for the damage at the car park.
In the meantime stairwell access remains available to all levels of the park, as well as through the main entrance off Church Street.
