
The government’s urging people to fill in a survey being sent out to a thousand homes in the next week.
The questionnaire is designed to help the Island calculate how much VAT it should get under our agreement with the UK.
Those taking part have to be interviewed and keep a fortnight-long diary about their spending – the figures will then be used to figure out how much VAT cash we should get.
Government economist Stephen Carse says this way of calculating our VAT share is a new one.
