Mr Hopkins is also aiming to raise £11,111 for the Royal British Legion
Christopher Hopkins set off from the Castletown War Memorial at 5am this morning (11 November).
He is expected to finish his challenge around about 5pm.
He told Manx Radio the run is in memory of all men and women who have served or are serving in the British Forces.
He added after talking about the challenge for 12 months, he is excited to finally be able to do it:
