Move 'doesn't imply wrongdoing' says Canon
Reverend Clive Burgess has been "suspended from offices incumbent in the parish of Onchan."
That's according to Canon John Coldwell, who gave an explanation to Manx Radio.
However, he says it's a neutral act, which "doesn't imply any wrongdoing on his behalf," and is "merely part of a process."
The current associate vicar at St George, All Saints in Douglas will take temporary responsibility for Onchan.
That tenure will begin next Monday (15 July), with a service to inaugurate her into the ministry.
