Bid to ban smoking in cars carrying children
Island residents are being urged to give their views on proposals to ban drivers from smoking in cars with children inside.
New regulations amending the 2006 Public Health (Tobacco) Act are due before Tynwald in February.
They aim to protect young people aged 16 or under, from the harmful effects of breathing second-hand smoke.
If the measures are agreed, anyone caught smoking in a private vehicle with a youngster on board could face a fixed penalty fine of up to £50.
The ban is among a raft of proposed changes to tobacco legislation.
