A vigil's being held today offering prayers for those caught up in the Afghan crisis along with victims of the recent earthquake in Haiti.
It takes place at Trinity Methodist Church, Douglas from four until eight o'clock this evening and is open to all faiths as well as anyone with no religious affiliation.
Christian Aid co-ordinator Louise Whitelegg is one of the organisers.
She says this is the first step ahead of further action:
