Submarine snagged trawler
More vigilance is needed by submarine crews during manoeuvres where fishing boats operate.
That's the view of Captain Steve Carter, Isle of Man harbour pilot, who has many years experience working in the Irish Sea.
It follows news the UK Ministry of Defence has admitted one of its submarines snagged an Irish trawler's nets in Manx waters in April.
Captain Carter says submariners are trained to avoid surface vessels - but that doesn't mean accidents can't happen:
