The World Championship Viking Longboat Races return for 2026 today (18 July).
Fifty eight teams of 10 will compete a time-trial around Peel bay.
The event which has run annually since 1963 will get underway at 12:30pm.
Parts of the town's promenade and East Quay will be closed to traffic from midday - 6:30pm.
Other areas affected are Victoria Road, Castle Street and Shore Road, with parking restrictions also in place on Crown Street.
