The director of public health is praising staff at two nursing homes in the Isle of Man for their handling of an outbreak of Norovirus.
Two separate cases of the winter vomiting virus have been reported in the week since Christmas.
Dr Parameswaran Kishore hopes the problem can be nipped in the bud, and says the nursing homes have been doing everything they can to prevent the problem spreading (play audio file):
People who believe they have the virus should stay away from Noble's Hospital and GPs' surgeries.
The advice is to seek advice by phone.
Basic hygiene procedures should be followed, with hands washed thoroughly on a regular basis.
Anybody who has had the virus should stay away from work for 48 hours after all symptoms have ceased.
