Tales of generosity after breakdown
Island customers who suffered problems with their Visa cards last night have been sharing their experiences on social media.
Card payments across the British Isles and Europe were struck out by an unknown issue yesterday.
Visa has apologised and says the issue has been resolved.
On the Island, payments were reportedly declined in supermarkets, corner shops and pubs, on what is traditionally one of the busiest nights of the year for TT tourists and locals.
One Facebook user described the 'embarrassment' of being left unable to pay for shopping in Anagh Coar.
But he was stunned when a generous stranger offered to pay for him in cash - and refused to take anything in return.
It's claimed the good samaritan said she just 'hoped someone would do the same for her'.
