Move affects 40 countries in all
Telecoms provider Vodafone has scrapped roaming fees for its UK customers in the Isle of Man, along with 39 other countries.
The announcement came ahead of a planned EU-wide ban on the charges later this year.
But those restrictions won't stretch to Manx customers, who will still be faced with potentially hefty bills for calls, texts and data usage abroad.
Vodafone's latest move does, however, stretch to several non-EU states including the Island, Jersey, Guernsey and Gibraltar.
It's initially being made available to new customers only.
Yet industry analysts have commented that the savings created in Europe after June won't be passed on to the consumer - who are likely to be faced with higher base costs instead.
