Restoration efforts to maintain garden originally built to celebrate the Island’s biosphere status continues
A community garden celebrating the Isle of Man’s biosphere status is being restored thanks to the dedication of local volunteers.
Originally designed in early 2018 as a temporary feature in St John's, the garden was kept in place after a wave of public support.
Although it was only built to last around five years, the original design and purpose of Garey Yn Ellan Ain remain unchanged.
Over the past 18 months, a team of volunteers has been working to revitalise the space — with support from various organisations, friends, and family members helping to shovel tonnes of compost.
Vanessa Callin and Jane Prescott say the restoration efforts have been huge:
Knives and 'sharp metal objects' found in Douglas Council recycling box
Bus drivers to go on strike
Taxi driver remanded in custody after admitting £11k cheque fraud against father
Island businesses invited to FSA events
Yellow warning for snow
