A team of eleven civil defence volunteers are starting a gruelling winter survival adventure weekend this evening (Friday).
In what's described as a cross between 'I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here' and Ray Mears, they will take part in a range of personal and team challenges in the Manx hills, including navigation, bushcraft and survival skills.
Extreme survival trainers have been brought over by the Island's Civil Defence Association, with support from the Department of Home Affairs.
The weekend will be based around the Ard Whallan outdoor education centre in West Baldwin.
