Sessions being held across the Island
An initiative has been launched on the Island to support those who are grieving.
Manx Sports and Recreation, Cruse Bereavement and Compassionate Isle of Man are behind Walk and Talk - Walking through Grief.
The idea behind the walking sessions which started at the beginning of December, is to focus on the link between exercise and good mental health.
Organisers say Walking through Grief will provide a safe and supportive environment where people can talk to Grief Buddies. They’re not intended to be counsellors or give advice, instead they will listen empathetically if you want to chat or walk in companionable silence if you don’t.
There’ll be a small charge for the sessions which will be held across the Island and there’s no need to book.
The hope is that people who’ve experienced a loss will feel able to take things at their own pace and connect with those who may have been through something similar. You can find out more details about the sessions here.
