Follows reports of armed police at Heysham port
Police in Lancashire arrested a wanted man as he was disembarking the Manannan yesterday morning.
The North West force has told Manx Radio officers were assisting the Isle of Man Constabulary when the Steam Packet vessel docked in Heysham.
They say they were asked to detain the man who police here wanted to speak to in relation to an offence and he was arrested 'without incident'.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing multiple armed police officers, and police vehicles, at the port just before 11am on Saturday (22 May).
A statement from the Isle of Man Constabulary says: "Lancashire Police assisted the Isle of Man Constabulary by arresting a wanted male who had left the Island by boat yesterday morning.
"He was arrested at Heysham and will be brought back to the Island.
"At this time no further comment will be made."
