May 2010 was warm and sunny, according to the Met Office at Ronaldsway.
The majority of the month saw temperatures below the May mean, but a warmer spell during the latter stages brought the overall figure up to the long term average.
May was the seventh consecutive month with above average sunshine, in this case 275 hours compared to the long term mean of 225.
The sunniest day was the eleventh, with almost 15 hours of unbroken sunshine.
The highest temperature, just over 20 Celsius, was recorded at Ronaldsway on May 22, a Saturday, and that weekend the mercury rose to 25 Celsius in parts of the Island away from the coast.
Rainfall for the month totalled just over 31 millimetres, which was 28 per cent lower than normal for the time of year.
