Police are warning youngsters about the dangers posed by the sea, after an incident in Douglas.
Officers say a teenage boy jumped into the water from the promenade yesterday (Thursday) afternoon.
Despite the sunny weather and calm conditions, he quickly got into difficulties and had to be rescued by a friend.
The Douglas Neighbourhood Policing team says parents who are aware their children are jumping into the sea should stress the dangerous nature of the activity and deter them from doing so.
