Dog owners are being warned that their pet can be legally killed or put down if it's found to be worrying sheep.
The warning comes after a young sheep had to be put down by a vet after being attacked by a dog.
The incident happened around lunchtime last Sunday when the animal was discovered on Bradda Head, around a quarter of a mile along the track.
It had a hole torn in its neck.
It's believed the animal had been chased for some distance over the headland and the dog which carried out the attack would probably be bloodstained.

Dog owners are reminded that they must keep their dogs under proper control at all times.
If your dog is found to be worrying livestock you can face a fine of £2500 and a court can order for it to be destroyed.
Farmers are also entitled to shoot the animal if they see it worrying their flock.
