Crews from Port Erin were called to a garage fire in Colby this morning (Friday).
The call out to a property at Croit-e-Caley came at around 11.10am, but on arrival they found the householder had already managed to put out the blaze using a fire extinguisher.
There were no injuries, but the fire totally destroyed an electrical fusebox.
The Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service is reminding members of the public to have domestic electrical installations tested at least every ten years.
