Solution since found and trees will be saved
Malew Commissioners say they believe they couldn't have done anything more over previous plans to fell trees in St Marks.
Permission was granted to fell 25 elms on Braaid Road - something that sparked outcry from residents.
On Friday that decision was halted after a solution was found, between government and the landowner, which saw the trees saved.
Chair of Malew Commissioners Nigel Bazley says no representations were made to the authority when it was debating the proposals:
